March 2024 is now in the books which means we are a quarter of the way through 2024 already. Here is my monthly recap of the going ons in my life.

Reading

I read three books this month. Palaces for the People was a very interesting read about how public spaces such as libraries, churches, and parks are essential for cities to be good cities, especially for those who are lower income. As someone who is very interested in urban living, I learned a lot from this book. Elsewhere was an enjoyable novel with an interesting take on what happens when we die. It was written by Gabrielle Zevin, who wrote the amazing Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow that I enjoyed last year. Lastly, I read volume one of the Splatoon manga. I have gotten back into Splatoon 3 again so this was an easy choice for me when I was looking for something light to read earlier this month.

Computing

The only change in my computing in March was using my iPad more as just an iPad, You can read my full thoughts here. Otherwise, everything else stayed the same.

Fitness

Unfortunately, My March fitness journey was much like my February fitness journey in that I was injured for a good part of the month. I injured my right ankle early on in March and just as that was almost completely healed, I severely sprained my left ankle playing basketball. This kept me from running and biking as much as I would have liked. Thankfully as of the last week and a half I have been able to get back into my routine. Here’s to a hopefully injury free month of April!

  • Completed 48 miles of walking workouts
  • Completed 16 miles of running workouts
  • Completed no cycling workouts (sad face emoji)

Gaming

I got back into gaming pretty hard in March. After not playing many videogames at all the last several months, I got into several in March. Having two injured ankles no doubt contributed to this. My game of choice ended up being Splatoon 3. This is just an incredible game. I finished up the single player campaign, started playing the new Side Order DLC, participated on Team Keyboard for the latest Splatfest, and played too many Turf War matches with friends online. This game is up there on my personal favorite games of all time list.

  • Started playing Destiny 2 on PS5
  • Started playing Mario vs Donkey Kong on Switch
  • Started playing Super Mario RPG on Switch
  • Picked up Super Mario Wonder again on Switch
  • Played an unhealthy amount of Splatoon 3 on Switch

Travel

  • No travel for the month of March
